Rachel Lindsay Responds to 'Bachelor' Alum Leah Block's Racist Comment

Who Won The Bachelorette Spoilers Rachel Lindsay's Season 13 Winner Shows Her Change Of Heart

According to Entertainment Tonight, fellow contestant Dean Unglert commented on Garrett's habit, saying, "The only people that I've seen Lee pick fights with have been not the people he's used to seeing on a daily basis from a cultural perspective". Though Russell didn't get to interact with Rachel and her date, Dean, while filming his performance, he could tell they had some chemistry watching them from the stage. "The longer Lee sticks around, the more everyone will become aware of his intolerance", Dean predicted. Later Kenny confronts Lee and takes the bait to get angry, while Rachel listens.

Lindsay is the first black lead in franchise history in 33 combined seasons of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette".

After this tweet from Leah Block, Rachel went to Twitter and said, "Let me know if she wants to meet Lee...they sound like they would have a lot in common #ihavetimetoday".

Rachel was very receptive of that and said, "That's the kind of person I want to be around".

The pressure apparently got to Block, and she not only ended up deleting that tone-deaf tweet but also deactivated her entire Twitter account. She even admitted with teary eyes that she knew people would judge her for her decision. Combine that with Dean, who is someone that I was instantly attracted to but I wasn't sure had the maturity I was looking for, and I had a feeling this one-on-one was either going to make our relationship take off or go down. "And that's a lot".

Lee gets what is surely a producer-initiated last rose at the rose ceremony, while three solid dudes get the boot: Brady the male model, Bryce the elven firefighter, and Diggy the nerdy-but-fashionable inventory analyst.

Though Rachel Lindsay's casting as the first Black Bachelorette has ushered in a new crop of viewers who probably never watched the show (myself included), it's also underscored that racism is alive and well. You know, the things that matter. Rachel is impressed with Dean's hopeful outlook on life and gives him a rose, then they go to a concert in the middle of the street from country music's newest sensation, Smarmy McTallhair. "Bimp, bimp, bimp!" Rachel yelled, imitating her childhood name for blimps, which she told Dean fascinated her as a kid. Plus, Ashley discusses where "Bachelor in Paradise" goes from here.

I'm not suggesting that we should expect reality television, of all things, to be leading the struggle for justice or anything like that. What?! Peter tries to spell coitus beginning with a Q. Huh? Josiah's quote of the night, "With all due respect, Iggy's a *itch." HA! He said his siblings moved out shortly after and his dad was rarely home, forcing him to grow up a little early. Rachel told Kenny that Lee had said that Kenny was the aggressor in their argument. It'll happen. (Right?) Rachel is actually the nervous one when it comes to Bryan. This conversation was cut short leaving fans and contestants super frustrated.

Lee is a bad villain.

After receiving backlash from Twitter users for tweeting out her racist remark, Block deleted the tweet as well as her Twitter account.

This season of The Bachelorette has received mostly praise for its diverse cast.
