Health Care gains in danger!!

Want to discuss the Senate's new "discussion draft" of its ACA repeal bill with upper management but don't have time to sift through the 142-page document? Its fate remained uncertain after the four lawmakers refused to back the current Senate plan, leaving Republicans short of the votes needed for passage. If it passes the Senate, it will go to the House.

"The current bill does not repeal Obamacare", Rand Paul, one of the four Senators, along with Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Ted Cruz of Texas, and Mike Lee of Utah, who have said in a joint statement that they're "not ready to vote for this bill".

GOP Sens. Rob Portman of OH and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia also expressed concerns about the bill's cuts to Medicaid and drug addiction efforts.

Maine Sen. Susan Collins and some others are anxious about the bill rolling back Obamacare's expansion of Medicare and putting limits on federal funding of the program. Many Republicans oppose the group because it provides abortions, the AP said.

The House approved its version of the bill last month.

President Trump tweeted a video of his weekly address, which centered on healthcare legislation.

The Better Care Reconciliation Act eliminates the individual mandate requiring people to purchase health insurance. The rollback of the expansion of Medicaid, the government insurance program for low income Americans was particularly seen as a positive move.

Senator Roger Wicker of MS expressed some disappointment that the new bill bears too many similarities to Obamacare.

Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, is expected to bring the healthcare bill to a vote next week.

"The Medicaid cuts are the part of the Senate bill that probably give us the most heartburn", Moller said.

Barack Obama has blasted the Republican Party's new healthcare bill as "a massive transfer of wealth from middle-class and poor families to the richest people in America".

"We live in the wealthiest country on earth". Veteran Senator John McCain said the draft bill was better than Obamacare in "100 ways", but like many Senators wanted to study the bill further and consult with his state's governor. Politico reports the Senate bill also cuts Medicaid funding more significantly than the House bill. The bill would also convert Medicaid funding into a per-capita cap program and offer states the option to apply for funding as a block grant. He said any repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act would have "insurance for everybody", telling the Washington Post, "there was a philosophy in some circles that if you can't pay for it, you don't get it". According to Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, 210,000 Nevada residents were covered by Medicaid thanks to the its expansion under the Affordable Care Act. A week or so, assuming a major vote before the July 4 recess, appears even worse a rush to get a health care financing bill, but not necessarily a bill that's good for health care for many Americans. When they leave the marketplace and only sicker people remain, the average health care costs for insured people would increase, causing premiums to increase.

"Medicaid's not actually being cut from our perspective", Republican Sen.

"We're anxious about the burden it creates for the states", Kristine Grow, spokeswoman at America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), said on Friday. The federal-state program provides health care to the poor, disabled and many nursing home patients.

The American Academy of Pediatrics, citing the proposed Medicaid cuts, said the bill would hurt children.
