A Winnipeg man has been arrested for sharing child pornography with children he met in a video chat room.
Julio Nunfio, 42, was arrested in March and charged with possession of child pornography and make available child pornography.
This comes after an investigation which began on March 28, when the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force notified Waynesboro police about a possible child pornography case in the area.
The Waynesboro Police Department started its own independent investigation after the tip from the task force.
Constable John Sottosanti says as a result of the information gathered, members of the ICE Unit, Criminal Investigation Branch, Electronic Crime Branch, Forensic Identification Unit and general patrol executed a search warrant at a residence in the city.
None of the victims are in Winnipeg and investigators are trying to find them, he said. Several other of his digital devices were confiscated and will be examined.
Meeks said detectives spent three weeks looking at the images that were taken from the property.
Detectives obtained the warrants on April 20.
48, of Waynesboro, was being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail Friday.
