I still have a lot more to offer: Chris Gayle

Swashbuckling West Indian batsman Chris Gayle has scored just 60 runs in the three matches he has played so far and was dropped twice, including in the match against Pune on Sunday.

If Gujurat Lions and Black Caps star Brendon McCullum had been wearing a cap rather than a floppy hat, he would have had Royal Challengers Bangalore masterblaster Chris Gayle stunningly caught on the boundary instead of helping him to a six in their IPL clash on Tuesday.

"I like that name (Universe-Boss)". Look for the Chris Gayle foundation...

Kohli also reminded everyone of the staggering stats Gayle had managed to make his own - 10,000 runs at an average of 40: "It was our 10th 100-run partnership in T20s and it is a record".

A dejected Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli said that they have to find a "winning formula" soon as they don't deserve to win with this kind of performance. He said that even Shaun Pollock himself had adviced Gayle to change his stance.

Gayle has endured an underwhelming start to IPL 10, having gone for 32, six, and 22 in his previous three innings.

"There's a lot of strapping on the shoulder, not getting to my head anymore, shoulder fit and fine".

"I think the wickets are not batting-friendly, but that doesn't mean it's not a good T20 wicket".

"We bowled tightly in the first 18 overs but went away with the plan in the last two overs which cost us 30 runs". We've got players who can win the game on their own - the likes of McCullum, Finch and Smith.

Hailing the young spin duo of Pawan Negi and Chahal, the 28-year-old said: "Negi was outstanding, very courageous, not getting scared". We need more of those performances, we can't rely on one or two people and that's why we did so well a year ago. "Chahal is not scared, his biggest plus point is he always wants to take wickets", he said. But once the spinners came on, Gayle started opening his shoulders at will. Jadeja, the No. 1 Test bowler in the world, bore the brunt as Gayle scored 27 runs off the eight balls he faced from the hometown hero. "It was 15 runs too many and that put us under huge pressure", Vettori said. "Our bowling giving too many runs". Meanwhile, the move of not buying one or two gun bowlers in the auction is coming back to haunt Lions and they have little resources to turn things around.
