Ferrari Land opens for thrillseekers

Today we get a look at Europe's Fastest & Highest Rollercoaster.

Dubbed Red Force, Ferrari is hoping the ride will help achieve the aim of five million visitors in its first year. Those fearless enough to try it will experience a G force of 1.35, giving them a brief but intense taste of what it is like to be in a Formula One vehicle.

Arturo Mas-Sardá and Piero Ferrari set the park's wheels in motion at the opening ceremony, joined by Ferrari test driver Marc Gené.

It's just one of 11 attractions at the 70,000 square-metre Ferrari Experience which pays homage to the excellence of the Italian brand.

Visitors can ride in the two new main constructions at the park.

Europe's tallest and fastest rollercoaster is the highlight of Ferrari Land which has opened for business at PortAventura World near Barcelona in Spain.

The Red Force reaches 112 miles per hour in just five seconds.

A new 570 metre race track has also been built in order to give clients the opportunity to drive a kart shaped as a Ferrari sports auto.

For those looking for a more peaceful and relaxing time, the resort also boasts five themed hotels, three golf courses, and a beach club to help calm frazzled post-coaster nerves.
