New Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez is asking all paid party employees to resign as he tries to rebuild the embattled organization.

Perez's comment incited a thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd.

At a rally in New Jersey Friday, Perez spoke to the New Jersey Working Alliance - and things got a little raucous.

Before he closed his remarks, Perez said he chose New Jersey as the location for his address because he wanted to "learn about bullies" to help counter the "bully in Washington". "You didn't win this election", he said to Trump.

"January 20th was undeniably an important day in this country, but January 21st was far more important", Perez said in an apparent reference to Trump's inauguration and the Women's March. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Florida, resigned in the aftermath.

Perez said Trump wants his name on everything, from Trump Tower to Trump Steaks, but noted he did not want to call the failed ObamaCare replacement bill "TrumpCare". "I Don't Care", because they don't care about people'.

"It does not reflect our values as a nation", Perez said of Republican efforts to repeal former President Obama's landmark health care law.

After he was chosen for the DNC role, Perez asked every member of staff to send in a resignation letter as he plans for a major overhaul of the party's organization, it was revealed on March 28.
