Call of Duty: Black Ops II is Now Backwards Compatible, Go Nuts

Call of Duty Black Ops 2

The Call of Duty game is now on sale for 50% off on the Xbox Store (or 60% off if you're an Xbox Gold member).

Now that Black Ops II has gotten the backwards compatibility treatment, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the most-requested game on the list, followed by three more Call of Duty games - specifically the Modern Warfare franchise. I played over 30 days on my Xbox 360 version, and I'm ready to put another 30 in. Xbox 360 hits will keep coming and the credit will all goes to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program.

Microsoft has announced that Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 is now available to be played on their latest generation consoles via backwards compatibility.

In 2016 games like Red Dead Redemption, the Bioshock trilogy, the Mass Effect trilogy, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion were added and now the addition of Black Ops 2 is unquestionably the biggest announcement for the platform so far in 2017.

The last installment in the Call of Duty series was Infinite Warfare, which launched previous year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Fans of the shooter will be happy to know Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 runs extremely well on the Xbox One. It may have taken a long time to finally arrive, but the result of the software engineering effort appears to have paid off.

In terms of multiplayer, the game is said to perform at a stable 60 frames-per-second, with only minor dips.

In my opinion, that tranzit zombie map was one of the best - I can't wait to get back to annoying that bus driver! Every match we played managed to deliver a near flawless level of performance.

"However, when explosions or fire fill the screen, performance is taxed and we end up with a slight dip in frame-rate that quickly dissipates", the post continues. If you have fond memories of the game and are looking to revisit any portion of it, this is a great way to do so. The final part of that statement will be good news for any fans out there who may not have owned the game originally, allowing them to dive into the Xbox One backward compatible version at a reduced price. Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 follow close behind.

It's also worth nothing that, while purchasing these digitally means you don't have to fumble about with a disc, some of these titles are cheaper when you buy a physical copy.
