Since its official debut on March 29, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has been 2017's most coveted device, thanks to its design and software improvements. The Note 7 debacle previous year certainly was a bad situation to be in, making the tech giant skip the Mobile World Congress and delay the Galaxy S8 launch.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are new flagship smartphones from the company. On the other hand, the Galaxy S8+ features a bigger 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution and 531ppi. After Apple, Huawei, and LG launched flagship handsets with a dual-camera setup, Samsung was also tipped to do the same. However, the report attributed most of Samsung's strong performance to its low-end and mid-range smartphones, rather than its premium devices. However, Samsung didn't share exactly how many units of the Galaxy S8 units it has sold. The Galaxy S8 features a 3,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8+ is fuelled by a 3,500mAh battery.
We expect the Galaxy smartphones to launch in a price range closer to Rs 50,000 mark.
Samsung CEO of the Galaxy S8's iris recognition Mark Clifton stated that Federal Bureau of Investigation utilizes 13 points of identification per fingerprint, which 10 fingers might have 130 unique identifiers.
After the success of the bezel-less displays, Samsung reportedly plans on developing the first dual-screen bendable smartphone. Citing industry sources, the publications said the prototype could be "a preliminary version of its upcoming foldable smartphone, dubbed Galaxy X". They run Android 7.0 Nougat. The new launch provides a much-needed vigor for the company's sales that had a vacuum of a flagship during this time, even when it diverted all sales and marketing activities to the predecessor, Galaxy S7, and S7 Edge. It will also feature an OLED screen allowing pixels to emit their own light.
The Galaxy S8 Active is also expected to be IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.
