Lady Gaga will replace Beyonce as Coachella headliner this year

Coachella bound Mother Monster will perform as the main act on Saturday April 15 and 22 at Coachella The other headliners are Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar

Gaga will take the headlining spot that had been Beyonce's; pregnant with twins, the superstar announced last week that her doctors recommended she bow out.

Gaga, who headlined the halftime show at the Super Bowl earlier in February, planned a world tour around her new album "Joanne" to start later this year.

While Lady GaGa fans are surely celebrating the news that Mother Monster is now headlining Coachella, they should know this booking nearly didn't happen. She had announced on February 1 that she was pregnant with twins.

Let's party in the desert! "However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival". Goldenvoice officials didn't respond to an e-mail requesting comment on rumors that swirled Tuesday afternoon about who might be the new Coachella headliner.

Lady Gaga is known for her pop hits, such as "Poker Face" and the anthem, "Born This Way", but she also has ventured into the realm of pop jazz with duets with Tony Bennett.

She will be the first woman to headline Coachella since Björk in 2007 and is joined on the line-up by Kendrick Lamar, Radiohead, Bon Iver, Future, Lorde and more.

Tickets are sold out for the 2017 festival, which takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio April 14-16 and April 21-23.
